This will probably get moved (I Understand)

went over there at the opening to check it out, maybe say a few "hellos", and post a couple of my articles to get opinions.

The main site does have some good articles to read, but the forum makes me wanna puke, seeing all these posters that I have/had respect for bending over a dropping the trousers for the Shrink.

I've got nothing personal against Ken, we had a couple pleasant back and forths over at the rx about the ODU games, ect...

but, the way some of these guys have went over there and begged for attention and/or affection from the guy is quite sickening

I've had my differences with a couple folks (situations)at the rx, but I'll take this place 10 out of 10 times over eog.

To all you folks running over to eog talking about how the RX is done and saying the RX is dead:

EGO - I very much appreciate your loyalty to The Rx. and enjoy your posts.

I only moved the thread to be fair, because we have moved other EOG threads. I just don't want to escalate any kind of Forum war.

I hope you understand why the thread was moved.

Thanks, wil.

I have seen this for going on 4yrs now...people have said The Rx is dying for the entire time I have been poosting here....meanwhile the site has more members now than it had 2 months ago, and it will continue to grow.

Its human nature to go take a peak at the new store down the street, but home will always be The Rx for 90% of the core posters.

I understand Wil, it's cool.

Just tired of seeing that shit.

like i said before, I've had my differences with certain things here, i'm a critic like everyone else, but the blatant ass-kissing that I've seen over there since the weekend takes the cake.

some of the "toughest talking" guys in forumville are the main culprits. Maybe Millenium was right all along about the sheep. Guys acting like teenage girls hoping the star QB will ask them to the prom :hump:

I will post at EOG, but planning with keeping RX as state of permanent residence.

Sent a email to pinny voicing my disgust of them no longer advertising at RX and removing their numbers from RX live lines. Other RX posters with pinny accounts should voice their displeasure.

It is best to wish Ken well rather than all the bashing and bickering that has persisted since his new site was first mentioned. Bashing will only produce negative forces which nobody benefits.

I am suprised they only have 350 members as of today. I would have guessed it to be much higher.

That quote sums up my views on the matter. Checked the new site out, it's ok, but I always end up back here to continue my handicapping education.

I agreed with everything in your post except this part...

I guess it is a matter of opinion because I will email them and commend them for taking a stand if their reason for not renewing was because they didn't want to advertise as a second rate book under BOS.

Pinny did'nt want to pony up for the current fees, CONFIRMED.

The only coincidence is that their contract was up at almost the same time.

If the contract did'nt end for another 8 months would you still be spewing the same non sense!?

If Pinnacle didn't want to pony up ad dollars, wouldn't you offer them a better deal like the site has done for others to get them on board? Hard to believe Pinnacle would turn down some of the offers made to others up top.

Is that too much nonsense for you Rob? Tough to believe they can afford to advertise on all the sites they are on but couldn't handle TheRX with the offers they are shelling out to other top tier books.

Is the owner that money hungry that he doesn't want the premier book in the online industry on his site? Aren't his pockets filled enough from the money he gets from BOS?

Please fill me in oh knowledgeable one...

Clipjoint what makes you think you have the slightest idea what any of our past of present advertisers pay to hang banners here? Do you work for the Rx? Are you privy to any actual real contract information, or are just spewing bullshit?
I am getting very tired of all your baseless allegations about what we do or do not charge our advertisers. Either come up with something more than just guesses and gossip or STFU.

I'll use a classic quote from the mature head mod (and teenage girls all across the world)..."Whatever"

Nothing baseless about my allegations...that is why you get so disturbed.

And to answer your question, yes, I have seen actual RX advertising contracts. Have you?

Clip, were you at the bash? I heard your name mentioned, but I did not see you there.

Thanks Jarbo (dead money) for it was great meeting yourself and other rx folks.

Unfortunately I wasn't. I had several posters I was looking forward to meeting.

I had a few circumstances that made it difficult and although I could have made a quick over and back trip by car, it would have made for a rough weekend.

My daughter had her 12th birthday on Friday and her first day of Junior High on Monday (both of which took top priority over anything else going on for me). I had my ID and passport (among other things) stolen when I returned from out of the country this month so flying was not an option. That would have made for a long road trip and with the drinking and partying that would have been involved with the bash, I decided against it as I know that drove home would have been impossible.

I am looking forward to a trip with Spreadbeater in the very near future whether it be to Florida to visit him or a trip together to Costa Rica.
